Origin Story

EST 2017

It was 2017, I had just left Austin City Limits music festival on a high from the crowd's vibrations and the artistry of musical energy - when a girl, Meg from New Zealand, told me how beautiful my bracelet was. I had never met Meg before, but it was in this moment I felt a genuine connection that reverberated throughout the anthem of the evening. I felt a need to share the impact of how meaningful Meg's words meant to me in that moment. So I removed the bracelet and handed it to her.

"No, no no, I can't possibly take it from you," she said humbly.

This wasn't an expensive bracelet, but the uniqueness in its design was something she hadn't seen before. If I gave it to her, then she'd have a keepsake to remind her of all the positive connections she made during her first experience in Austin and for me, that sounds like such a beautiful thing.

"Please, I want you to have it. Wear it for a short or as long as you wish, until you have another moment like this, where you meet a complete stranger who doesn't feel foreign at all. And when you meet somebody who reminds you of the energy of this moment, give it to them. Or... wear it until we cross paths once again. Either way, I want you to have it."

After she accepted my gift I thought, " I should build a Facebook profile for the bracelet to see where it goes. Create a platform to allow me to follow the story of its journey and connect with all the people and places it encounters. I imagine that would build a community of sharing moments just like this."

And thus, that is how this idea was born.
